Linda has had nearly 20 years of experience in the assisted living industry. Before Stellar Care, Linda worked for a premier assisted living company in a number of different areas including community relations, marketing, and both international and local site development.
In 2007, she and her family opened up a small six-bed facility before taking a bigger jump and acquiring Stellar Care a year later. Linda and her team took a distressed and overburdened assisted living community and turned it into a wonderful home for residents with dementia. Stellar Care now has a reputation as one of the most successful memory care facilities in San Diego. Linda's passion for the industry sets the tone for the rest of the building, and once the building was stable, she began to take a more active role in the San Diego community. In 2014, she became a committee member for the County's Alzheimer's Project, as well as a board member and Vice Chair of the Alzheimer's Association. She is currently a member of the advisory council for Alzheimer's San Diego, and a new board member of the California Ballet Association, but is most proud of having become an Honorary Captain of the San Diego Honorary Sheriff's Association in 2014.
Annelie Damasco Assisted Living Director
Annelie has a very personal connection with our residents' conditions. Eight years ago Annelie's father was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and she moved him into her home to help care for him. She also took care of her father-in-law for the last years of his life.
Her experiences have allowed her to problem solve with family members, as she can directly relate to them. Annelie's experience with senior care was not just a recent calling. She has worked in the aging industry for over 20 years and has been the Assisted Living Director at Stellar Care for over 8 years. On a daily basis, Annelie is in charge of residents' care, overseeing the med program, and evaluating incoming residents. It is Annelie's goal to care for residents with dignity, respect, and attention to the needs of their whole person. She understands the importance of open communication with families and being there for them throughout the entire care process. When she's not running around caring for our residents, Annelie stays busy running through obstacle courses (she is a frequent Mud Run participant) and is also an avid stand-up paddle boarder and longboard enthusiast.
Susan O'Shaughnessy Marketing Director
Susan O'Shaughnessy is a native New Yorker -- born in New York City and raised in Long Island, where she was a day student at an all-girls school in Brentwood. Her college career found her on several campuses, but after moving to San Diego in 1991, she is most proud to have a degree in Gerontology from San Diego State University.
As the Marketing Director of Stellar Care, and with over 20 years of experience in the field of aging, Susan is responsible for introducing new families to all the staff and services that make Stellar Care so special. Susan is the storyteller of Stellar Care, sharing narratives about how each department's team makes a positive difference in the lives of the people we serve each and every day. According to Susan, the aging industry was a perfect fit for a Baby Boomer like herself because she can relate to all the choices and decisions that adult children must make when it comes to caring for their parents. Susan also leads the semi monthly family support group meetings where she facilitates discussions and helps the families help each other. Susan is fiercely loyal to the Padres - a team she will never give up on - and enjoys anything that has to do with the Beatles, especially Sir Paul McCartney.
Rachel Robinson Activities Director
Born and raised in San Diego, Rachel Robinson has been working with older adults for almost 10 years. Rachel's introduction to the aging industry came by chance. Hired to be an administrative assistant at an assisted living community, she fell in love with her work, eventually becoming an Activities Coordinator.
Ever since then, she wouldn't imagine doing anything else. State certified Activities Director, Rachel is also the Vice President of the Activity Directors of Greater San Diego, as well as a Board Member of Southern California Association of Activity Professionals. Rachel's job as Stellar Care's Activities Director is to plan and provide a variety of activities to keep our residents engaged and happy--with days filled with laughter, fun, and well-being. When asked about her spare time hobbies, Rachel laughs and jokes, "Spare time? What's that?" adding that she loves to act silly with her two boys, walk along the beach, and cheer her kids on while they play sports.
Barbara Moore Business Director
Prior to Stellar Care, Barbara was the Assistant Property Manager for Shorenstein Realty Services in Oakland, where she was responsible for over 1,000,000 square feet of real estate. She now has narrowed her focus, and is in charge of all aspects of billing and Human Resources, and helps run all employee events.
With over 100 employees under her supervision, she never forgets to leave out birthday cards for staff on their birthdays, and works hard to keep staff happy and resident accounts current. Barbara and Linda Cho are sisters, and along with their husbands, Chris Moore and Chris Cho, have steadily grown the community into the largest memory care provider in San Diego, and one of the premier assisted living communities in the county.
Chris Cho Maintenance Director
Chris is a jack of all trades for building beautification. After selling his dental laboratory business, he joined Linda and helped her with domestic and international site development for the assisted living company.
Upon taking over Stellar Care, he had the daunting task of finishing renovations on a building that, at the time of acquisition, was simply not designed for memory care. Over the course of five years, he worked to make the community safe, secure, and beautiful all while working around the schedules and preferences of the residents in the building. Luckily, his years of experience in building custom homes and doing remodels for his family homes, gave him the creativity to marry functionality with dignity and comfort. The building, along with its staff, now exudes a warm, homey feeling for our residents, and Chris works hard to keep it that way. In his free time, Chris has a passion for photography, and he shares his landscape photos with the residents within the corridors of Stellar Care.
Chris Moore Culinary Services Director
The former General Manager of a branch of Max's Restaurant Group, Chris Moore is Stellar Care's Director of Culinary and Laundry Services, and has been working with older adults for nearly a decade. Strong ties to family values are what brought Chris into the senior care industry -- helping him to excel in serving our residents.
As Director of Culinary Services, he is responsible for creating beautiful homemade meals and snacks that are delicious, nutritious, and healthy for our residents. He also runs laundry services, and loses fewer socks per hundred residents than most people do in their own homes. When asked about the joys of working with residents, Chris said, "I love taking care of people's loved ones. Having a personal relationship with each and every resident is so special to me. I wake up every day hoping I can make someone laugh from the belly. More often it's them making me laugh." In his free time, Chris enjoys mountain biking, beach combing, playing billiards, and listening to music.
